Colour Management is the process of understanding and controlling how each colour device in your system handles colours (or greyscales) with the ultimate aim of maintaining colour consistency from input (scanning or digital photo) through editing (typically, colour control enabled software and Monitor profiles) and on to output (printer profiles, embedded profiles). The aim: reliable colour, and ’What you See is what you Print’. In addition to the pages in this FAQ, you may also like to look at our Articles section for some in-depth documents on these issues.
